I present to you a beautiful villa that I visited a few years ago, unfortunately not much is known about its history. The villa is also called ‘Gli Specchi Gemelli’ because of the 2 identical mirrors in the hall. The photos show that only 1 is still intact, unfortunately.
Built in the 18th century to serve as a manor house for the monsignor of the Umbria region. The frescoes are by Torricino and the wall decorations were done by William Morris, both the best in their field.
Not much later, it became the residence of a wealthy Italian family who left it for dead in the 1970s, never to return. Until the year 2000, the villa changed hands a number of times, but unfortunately, no one wanted to grow old here.
