Jezuïetenklooster

For a change, I once visited a location in my own country, the Netherlands. A huge monastery that has been empty for years and has changed hands about 3 times in recent years.

We had arranged with a group of friends whom I all know through my hobby. We had permission from the owner through the concierge and were able to spend a nice day wandering through the cloisters.

Everything was closed everywhere because there was still a curfew and covid regulations so this was a nice opportunity to get out and meet friends who live all over the Netherlands and whom you don’t see often.

During the war, this monastery was occupied by the SS and then it served as a retirement home until the 1980s. She has been abandoned for almost 40 years. Slowly the original inhabitants moved to other locations and fire reduced part of it to ashes about 20 years ago.
